European Union (EU)
The evolution of European Union (EU) started, when the six neighboring states (Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, and the Netherlands) started to cooperate economically in 1951. Later it has extended to 28 Countries, and with the latest Britain exit EU dropped to 27 countries.
There are 25 Non-European overseas Countries and Territories, shortly called as OCTs having special relations with Denmark, France, UK, and the Netherlands that are associated with the European Union to improve their economic and social development. OCTs countries are Anguilla, Aruba, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Antarctic Territory, Curacao, Cayman Islands, Greenland, Falkland Islands, French Polynesia, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, New Caledonia, Saint Barthelme, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Saba, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, Saint Helena, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Wallis and Futuna. Among these countries 22 countries have joined in Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA) and the remaining three countries (British Antarctic Territory, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and British Indian Ocean Territory) are not part of the OCTA.
